Lauren Brown
Data Analyst
Lauren Brown was born & raised in Nashville, TN where she grew up entrenched in HBCU culture as both of her parents graduated from Tennessee State University (TSU). She earned a B.S. in Mathematics from TSU in 2004, and a M.A.T with a concentration in Mathematics Education from Georgia State University in 2012. She held various education positions ranging from Substitute Teacher to Mathematics Professor at Georgia State University (GSU). She has a Big Data and Analytics certificate from Emory University, which helped her gain a position as a HR Analytics Analyst for The Home Depot. She was an Education Training Coordinator and will soon serve as both the DataCamp & Marketing Coordinator for the Education Team of ATLytiCS, an organization that serves underrepresented communities by promoting inclusivity and equal access to data analytics opportunities. Ms. Brown seeks balance in all aspects of life; therefore, with so much work there must be an equal amount of play. When she is not caring for her 3 young children in Stone Mountain, GA she loves to travel to quench her thirst for knowledge from around the world. Her passion is sharing how STEM has been influential in her life & given her the freedom and flexibility she always desired.
