She has spent her entire career building fit-for-purpose AI/ML-based solutions to help increase clinical trial efficiency across several therapeutic areas in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical devices industries.

Rhema Vaithianathan is a Professor of Economics at Auckland University of Technology (NZ), where she is director of the Centre for Social Data Analytics, a research centre that uses data analytics for social impact. Rhema leads a multidisciplinary team that works with health and human services agencies around the world to develop and deploy research-led machine-learning tools.

Associate Research Professor, Biomedical Data Scientist, Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal)

Associate Research Professor Paula Petrone leads the Biomedical Data Science Team at ISGlobal, which focuses on diagnosing chronic and infectious diseases using computer vision and advanced machine learning techniques. Paula graduated with a degree in Physics from Instituto Balseiro and earned her Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stanford University. She has served as a biomedical data scientist in the life science and startup sectors for over 10 years, specializing in areas, such as drug discovery, health informatics, and image analysis.
