Bursting Pipelines & Glass Cliffs: Women & Leadership in the MENA Region

About This Video

In this tech-vision talk, Lama examines the status of women in leadership roles in the Middle East and North Africa region through the lens of two phenomena: the bursting pipeline and the glass cliff. The bursting pipeline refers to the disparity between women’s high graduation rates in STEM and their meager workplace representation in STEM fields. The glass cliff refers to women’s increasing undertaking of leadership roles in times of crisis. She discusses insights from academic research and personal leadership experience to shed more light on this situation and present potential remedies.
